siem reap...

Siem Reap didn't get my attention when I was living in Thailand. May be it was too close to travel, I guess. I wanted to visit this town last year, but nobody was interested. Luckily, I had a chance to visit Siem Reap with Mark this year.
It took 40 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Siem Reap Airport. I was surprised that there were so many huge hotels all over downtown. We stayed at the local hotel near the river that close to the old market. Three days trip was perfect for us to visit Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Rolous Group.
We decided to explore the town and the ancient sites by tuk tuk. Bicycle, car, van and bus were other choices. There were a lot of good restaurant on Pub street that serve local food, Thai food, Italian food and Indian food. Surprisingly, I found a good bakery and pastry shop in town. Don't forget to pack your notebook because most restaurants offer free wi-fi for their customer.
