Nothing beats creating your own gingerbread house for Christmas. It's also a great way to get your family and friends involved in the holiday festivities. That what my friends and I did. It was so much fun as we were being kids again. We doubled this recipe, and baked gingerbread house pieces a couple days before assembly--to allow them to dry out and stiffen. We baked them a bit longer than gingerbread man, about 20 minutes because they were thicker and bigger. Kept them in airtight container, far away from all humidity.
For thick royal icing
