But it would never fly on Christmas, in my extended French-Polish family. There are allowances, but this creation is too far removed from the tradition of a desert, that is heaped up on traditions carried by family and culture, from Christmas to Christmas. I fear too many of the children in my extended family would be disappointed, as the &quot;log&quot; is only served once a year, and only on this night. And the log is something that as children, we all looked forward to, every year, with a nostalgic fondness.
